Catherine (Cat) Curry-Williams, with 27-years of nonprofit work under her belt, came upon a startling statistic one day a few years ago:

Women and girls received less than 1.7% of all U.S. donations every year.

Initially, she felt angry and disheartened. But soon after, realized her anger

would serve better as action.

This marked the genesis of “She Angels Foundation,” where Cat envisioned a group of like-minded women pooling their resources to tackle this inequity head-on.

But a new challenge arose: how to do it differently.

With a focus on membership and collective giving, what transpired next was nothing short of extraordinary. Cat teamed up with Catherine Gray, the founder of She Angels Investors,

to co-found She Angels Foundation.

They gathered a diverse group of women and shared the disheartening statistics and the urgency to address the inequity. The response was immediate and overwhelmingly positive.

Now less than four years later, She Angels Foundation has awarded 40 grants of $5,000 to nonprofit organizations that support women and girls,

and continues to grow its membership by 30-percent annually.
